Red Sky Performance

Jera Wolfe has been an Associate Artist, choreographer and performer with Red Sky Performance for the past five years. Through Red Sky Performance, Jera’s work has gained national and international prominence at festivals such as the Venice Biennale and Jacob’s Pillow and tours to Europe, the United States and across Canada.

He has choreographed two full-length dance productions for Red Sky Performance titled, Miigis and Trace. In 2019, Jera was recognized for his work, Trace and received the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Best Original Choreography. Furthermore, Jera is one of the original co-choreographers for Red Sky Performance’s acclaimed work, Backbone, which had a two week run at the Canadian Stage before touring the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and Poland.

Jera also choreographed one of the five sections of Great Lakes and most of the contemporary dance sections of Adizokan. More recently, Jera joined Red Sky in performing an excerpt of Trace for the ceremony honouring residential school survivors in The First National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
